Raid Projects, Los Angeles 2012
Flat screen, cardboard box, plastic wrap, insulation, wood, flatbed prints on plywood and rocks
The work is a partly build wall installation. All the materials included in the installation, have been photographed and archived digitally in image sizes that matches the actual size of the material. Together with a desert landscape photographed out side of L.A the materials have virtually been merged together in multiple layers and vaguely erased, so that landscape, wood beams, plywood, insulation and rocks appears at the same time. These virtually constructed images have been printed directly back on the plywood plates, marking traces of the physical materials included in the installation. A dialog between materiality and immateriality – objects, site and images attaches to each other in this unfinished construction.
Furthermore the work draws a straight line from the documentation of the installation to the physical experience of the work. The first following installation view was displayed on a Smart Tv that was connected online to this website.
