The world known beer brand Carlsberg had their factory of production located in Copenhagen (DK) up until 2006, where they moved the production site to Fredericia (DK). In 2008 Carlsberg introduced a culture economical strategy, inviting workers of culture to rent the empty spaces for favourable prices. Here including artists’ studios and art galleries. Today (2012), the Carlsberg factories represents Copenhagen’s leading hot spot for culture. My studio was located at Carlsberg between 2009-2011.
The installation is a semi-transparent representation of the walls of my studio and vaguely shows traces of work that had been made there. Phantasm reflects the complexities related to art work production in the post-fordist/post-industrial age - where accumulation of capital seems ubiquity.
